| 1 | Ra | 8.0 | 23 | 21 | 1999 | Reiner Knizia | alea & Ãberplay & 999 Games & Rio Grande Games | An amazingly fun game fraught with decision tension and a wonderful combination of multiple paths to victory and unequal values. | ||

I really enjoy the game, and find it immensely replayable. This is a great trading game and deserves a spot in almost anyone's collection.
| 3 | Taj Mahal | 8.0 | 11 | 41 | 2000 | Reiner Knizia | alea & White Goblin Games & Quined White Goblin Games (QWG) & Ystari Games & Rio Grande Games | What a great game, the mechanics serve to balance desires and there is no optimal strategy. One of Knizia's best. | ||

| 5 | Hoity Toity | 8.0 | 17 | 433 | 1990 | Klaus Teuber | Vini-Spil & alea & Gibsons Games & Jumbo & FX Schmid & Avalon Hill & Ãberplay & G&RRR | Great mechanics, funny theme, well balanced, a really great game. We played with 5 players, and I can see that, as others here say, it is best with that number. Update: I now own both the FXSchmid version and the Uberplay version (Hoity Toity). 2nd update: Beacuse I am that big a loser, and I couldn't stand a hole in my "Wall of Alea Games" nor could I stomach filling it with the F/X Schmid version, I am now the proud idiot who owns this game in three different versions. Somebody smack me, please? | ||

| 11 | Notre Dame | 8.0 | 6 | 48 | 2007 | Stefan Feld | Filosofia Editions & alea & Rio Grande Games | Terrific game of conflicting choices. the game has a bit of trouble with ability to control what cards you get, but is otherwise terrific, and well worth the time and effort to play. | ||
| 12 | In the Year of the Dragon | 4.0 | 5 | 62 | 2007 | Stefan Feld | Filosofia Editions & alea & Rio Grande Games | The planning and tense decisions necessary in most good games are here in abundance. Each turn you have to maximize your own actions and plan for victory in a careful balancing act. I really enjoy a game with this type of planning, and both the components and gameplay here are what you would expect from an Alea game. HOWEVER, the game totally starts to fall flat after a few plays as you realize that this game is nothing more than an exercise in avoiding pain, there is only one way to victory, and only one person can manage it each round. Very annoying game, overall. |

Game is terrific with multiple options and that lovely "just one more action needed" feeling. | 8 | Commands & Colors: Ancients Expansion Pack #1: Greece & Eastern Kingdoms | 8.0 | 4 | -1 | 2006 | Richard Borg | GMT Games | I prefer these battles to the originals, though more terrain tiles and options would have been nice
| 9 | Commands & Colors: Ancients Expansion Pack #2: Rome and the Barbarians | -1 | 2007 | Richard Borg | GMT Games | Unplayed as of yet... | ||||
| 10 | BattleLore | 9.0 | 12 | 24 | 2006 | Richard Borg | Days of Wonder & Fantasy Flight Games | Without a doubt, the best of the C&C Series. The Lore cards add to the strategy of the game, and help to balance the luck, and make the game feel very themetic. Fabulous! |
